Student Representative: Creighton-Regis University
Melissa Albert, OTS

What do you love about OT?

I love the blend of art and science, the holistic approach, and the broad range of practice settings/specialties.

How did you choose this profession?

I came across OT due to personal experience and by exposure while in undergrad. I immediately resonated with what I saw/learned about, and chose to pursue the profession because it will allow me to have a meaningful, purposeful career- something I value greatly.

Why did you choose to become an OTAC student representative?
I chose to become an OTAC student representative because I think it's incredibly important to advocate for the profession and be aware of all issues impacting it. Along with that, I think it's for students to become involved sooner rather than later, and am dedicated to facilitating that for my program.

What's your favorite thing to do in Colorado?
I like to go to the hot springs.
