What do you love about OT?

I love that OT helps individuals gain independence and gives them confidence to do what they love again. OT is a very creative profession and I love being able to problem solve to find exactly what will work for the client. I take pride in the fact that OTs are making everyday tasks and activites fun again!

How did you choose this profession?

I was working with an amazing child who had various conditions that required him to use a wheelchair. At the time I was in undergrad and learning about OT for the first time. This child did not have access to an OT and I was able to see how much he could have benefited from an OT. It inspired me to help other children gain independence from their caregivers and to help instill confidence in them!

Why did you choose to become an OTAC student representative?
My mom works for the State of Colorado and I get to see a lot of how policy infulences different professions and how they interact with their clients. I want to know how different policies effect my future career, co-workers, and clients. I think this is a great stepping stone to advocacy work to help OT become more well known and get our clients the best care that they deserve!

What's your favorite thing to do in Colorado?
As a Colorado native, my favorite things to do are anything that gets me outside. I lvoe to hike, paddleboard, play pickleball, watch the sunsets, and play with my doogo!
