Public Policy Chair:  Heidi Kunugi, OTR/L

What do you love about OT?

I love that I get to be with people everyday and help them achieve their goals.

How did you choose this profession?

I chose to be an OT because of my love for human anatomy and physiology and my love for people. I feel so honored to be able to help people in a personal and real way. I think the focus on function and occupation is so meaningful for people.

Why did you choose to become an OTAC board member?

I think that advocacy is so important for our profession, especially since OT’s tend to be humble. I want to develop skills and tenacity when advocating for our profession and I feel I can learn and grow in that way by being involved in OTAC!

What’s your favorite thing to do in Colorado?

I love to be outside and being active. I also love the changing seasons and feel so lucky to have 4 real seasons in Colorado.
