A love letter to Colorado: How the Fraser Valley helped me emerge from the depths of ongoing pain (totally open to changing this as I just came up with it)

The OTAC Conference is in my backyard this year! I am thrilled to be able to share with you all how much Colorado, and this valley in particular, helped me emerge from the depths of ongoing pain that forced me to medically retire from the career that had defined me, and continues to support me through more recent health challenges, such as the breast cancer diagnosis that rocked me last year. When I was in the worst of my pain, I'd withdrawn from nature, from the outdoors, from community. I'd become disconnected. Coming to Colorado nearly 12 years ago helped me reconnect. I'll share how the mountains, rivers, and trails, snowboarding, hiking, and cellphone photography, changed the course of my life. It's a love letter to Colorado, inviting everyone to think outside the box when it comes to occupational therapy, and think in the great outdoors.
