Secretary:  Jennifer Vette, OTR/L, MOT, OTR/L

What do you love about OT?

I love OT because of the diversity, creativity, and holistic lens of the profession. It is wonderful to be able to also work in a multitude of practice settings and provide treatment to such a variety of individuals. I love that there is never a day that is the same as the next. I like the challenge the profession brings.

How did you choose this profession?

I chose this profession after earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I wanted to be a Psychiatrist at the time and realized after that it wasn’t the right career path for me. I took some career and personality occupational quizzes and narrowed it down to OT. I will credit my mom telling me to go into OT way before I knew what it was. I went back to school and became a COTA. I discovered the love of this profession and what it represents and continued on to become an OTR in 2014.

Why did you choose to become an OTAC board member?

I am an OTAC member to advocate, learn, give back, and stay current in the field. There are also amazing people who are members that have become wonderful friends and colleagues. I joined the board to increase my leadership opportunities and go outside my comfort zone.

What's your favorite thing to do in Colorado?

My favorite thing to do in Colorado is exploring different areas, attempting my paddle board in the summer, camping, and trying out local places.
