Developmental Disorders Affecting Sleep: Trauma, Neurocognitive, and Motor Conditions
Courtney Palm, LMFT, Pediatric Sleep Specialist

Courtney Palm holds a master's degree in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University and has been a practicing clinician since 2005. A member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, she has conducted over 15,000 sleep consults in her career. Specializing in child development and early intervention, Courtney completed a clinical internship at the Child Development Institute in California and is certified in DIR: Floor-time, BABIES/Pre-Steps, and the Neuro-sequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT). Courtney worked with Early Intervention Colorado from 2010 to 2025 and is the founder of Palm Pediatric Training Institute (PPTI). Courtney, via PPTI, currently partners with therapeutic agencies and organizations to provide the Pediatric Sleep Intervention: 0-5 Certification course for therapists and nurses wanting to become certified in this specialization. Palm Pediatric Training Institute is an AOTA Approved Provider and approved by the Colorado Nurses Association and American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Title: Developmental Disorders Affecting Sleep: Trauma, Neurocognitive, and Motor Conditions
Overview: This session will first discuss the intersecting components of sleep that affect all children, regardless of development and/or diagnosis. This training explores sleep from a whole-child perspective that accounts for nutrition, gut-health, and other factors that influence sleep consistency and quality. We will then discuss the specific sleep considerations for children affected by unique developmental experiences and how to develop inclusive strategies for those families.
