from OTAC Corporate Member: Quest Healthcare

Title: Bowel Care Matters: Managing Autonomic Challenges in SCI, MS, and Parkinson’s

Presenters: Margaret Swantko and Ryan Gebauer

Description: Bowel dysfunction is a common and often challenging complication in neurologic conditions such as spinal cord injury (SCI), Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis (MS). This webinar reviews the mechanisms of neurogenic bowel dysfunction and autonomic dysregulation across these populations. Participants will explore the clinical characteristics of bowel dysfunction in SCI, gastrointestinal complications associated with Parkinson’s disease, and the impact of autonomic dysfunction in MS. Through case-based discussion and evidence-informed strategies, clinicians will gain practical approaches to recognizing complications, improving bowel management, and supporting patient quality of life across the continuum of care.
