WHY:
OTAC’s Hill Day offers a unique opportunity to advocate for OT practice in Colorado by engaging with our state legislators. With many new senators and representatives in the 2024 Colorado legislature, Hill Day is the ideal time to connect and educate them about the significant impact OT has on the lives of those we serve.
Itinerary at a Glance:

- 10:00 - 10:15 AM: Check-in
- 10:15 - 11:00 AM: Discussion on current and future bills; training on how to present to legislators
- 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Capitol Tour & Observing House Committee Meetings
- 12:00 - 1:00 PM: Lunch (provided by OTAC)
- 1:00 - 4:00 PM: Individual & Group Meetings with Legislator
The group meeting will feature legislators discussing their personal experiences with public policy, their connection to OT, how we can best coordinate with them, and the bills they are working on this session.
- 4:00 - 4:30 PM: Debrief
- 4:30 - 6:00 PM: OPTIONAL Happy Hour at a local bar/restaurant near the Capitol (food and drinks not covered by OTAC)

Why is Hill Day Limited to OTAC Members?
OTAC represents the OT profession in Colorado, and participants must be OTAC members to represent the association during Hill Day activities. Your OTAC membership directly supports our lobbying efforts and advocacy work.
