FREE PRE-CONFERENCE Tour and Presentation

Temple Grandin Equine Center

CSU Spur campus in Denver

Thursday, October 13th 2:30-4:30pm

Participants will enjoy a tour of the center, a live therapy demonstration, and a presentation about equine assisted therapy for an additional free 1.5 contact hours.

Timeline:

2:30-3:00 check in

3:00 -3:30 tour of TGEC clinical spaces

3:30-4:30 in observation room for OT demonstration

4:00-4:30 Q&A

After the tour and live therapy demonstration, participants will have a presentation on equine assisted therapy that will include the following information:

  • Distinction between PT, OT, SLP, TR
  • Using the horses’ movement as a treatment strategy
  • Care coordination
  • Additional Certifications required by American Hippotherapy Association (AHA)
  • Additional Certifications required by Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH)
  • Referral sources

Pre-Tour Independent Self guided VIDA add-on option:

If you would like to arrive early for a self-guided tour throughout the VIDA building, you are free to do so. A 2:00 arrival is recommended to explore the complex that includes surgery facilities and other areas of interest. https://csuspur.org/vida/

PARKING:

Please PARK in the lot just NORTH of the building and walk around to the SOUTHEAST MAIN ENTRANCE.

You will see a large white cat statue once inside the building. From there you may either begin the self-guided tour, or wait to meet our guide at 2:30 for check in.
