What do you love about OT?

I love OT because of its holistic approach and that we get to focus on what the client wants. I love that people get to get back to the things they love doing!

How did you choose this profession?

I chose this profession because of how virsatile it is. I used to work as an RBT at an ABA clinic and one day I was told to go drop my client off at OT. I asked if it was okay if I observed her session and she was happy to let me. I was in awe of all the different things she could work on and treated the child as a whole person and was able to target multiple deficits. He was a whole different child and came to life when he in an environment that supported him and took the time to understand him. I knew from that moment that I wanted to help people like that.

Why did you choose to become an OTAC student representative?

I chose to become an OTAC representative because I truly believe in this profession and working to make it more known. I came to an OTAC conference last year and loved getting to meet so many different people and learn so much more about the profession. I love to encourage my other classmates to get involved and get connected with more people because I belive it will help us to become better therapists.

What's your favorite thing to do in Colorado?

My favorite thing about Colorado is our beautiful mountains! There is such a sense of accomplish when you get to the top of a 14er!
